Maryland's Renewable Initiative

The state of Maryland has a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) target of 25 % renewable energy by 2020 to 50 % by 2030. Also, in late 2019, Governor Hogan proposed the Clean and Renewable Energy Standard (CARES) which is designed to put Maryland on a path to 100% clean electricity by 2040 with zero carbon emissions.

And, these ambitious goals come with huge financial incentives for you!

An Energy Storage Credit of up to $5,000
A Clean Energy Rebate Program of up to $1,000.
0% Sales Tax on Solar Equipment.
Property Taxs don’t increase in Maryland as a result of Solar Installation.
Maryland also allows for some of the Best Net Metering and SRECs in the nation

Clean Energy Grants

MEA offers grants for clean energy systems installed at primary residences in Maryland through its Residential Clean Energy Grant Program
MEA offers grants for clean energy systems installed at businesses, local governments, and non-profits through its Commercial Clean Energy Grant Program
